to achieve improved energy efficiency? Which technologies can be adopted as an industry to improve the environment and the bottom line?
Measuring cross sectoral energy efficiency is a complex task which goes beyond just calculating how much energy is needed to deliver one unit of output though telecommunication networks.
With the development of technology from 2G to 5G, the output of the industry is continuously changing, making the task more complex and with no single KPI. Mobile operators are running multi-generational networks, often 2G, 3G and/or 4G in combination with 5G and tower infrastructure is also hosting a mix of equipment.
